Help Support those Living with Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias

Currently, more than 17,000 York Region residents are living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, with that number expected to double by 2033. Alzheimer Society of York Region (AS York) provides healthcare navigation, public education sessions, caregiver support groups and respite through virtual, in-home and in-person D.A.Y. programs.

Our in-person D.A.Y. (Adult Day) program provides social and cognitive stimulation to those living with dementia using the latest in technology, toys and tools as well as live entertainment and instruction through music, visual art, stories and games. We need new iPads to help run portions of our program but more importantly, so that we can continue to provide our programming in various languages. due to COVID-19, we can no longer share devices between clients. Health, safety and accessibility have always been our top priority at AS York and new iPads will mean we can serve even more of our community, living with dementia.
