Catio- Outdoor Cat Enclosure for the Shelter cats
Cat overpopulation is a big concern in our area. Even with our aggressive spay/neuter program, we are struggling to find homes for the nice, friendly cats in our rescue. They spend a lot of time in the rescue and we have a very small area for the cats. The don't get to go outside due to the dogs who don't tolerate cats. A catio would help us give them time outdoors safely and provide enrichment through bird feeders and water fountains and flowers. We will have a climbing area and place for the kitties to have their own space if they do not like the hustle bustle of the shelter. This actually is shown to lead to less infections and issues with health. That helps with getting them adopted faster if they are healthy and happy. Give our sweet kitties an enriched environment while they wait for their forever homes.
